A lot of people think that all tiles can serve the same purpose, especially when it comes to floor tiles and wall tiles. In this article I am going to list the types of tiles suitable for both floor tiles and walls tiles.
Wall tiles tend to be a bit thinner, smoother and more delicate. They get thicker when they are wet, which is why they are not recommended underfoot. There are lot of tiles that can be used on walls for example gloss wall tiles, wood wall tiles, matt wall tiles, ceramic wall tiles, rustic wall tiles. These types of tiles are used depending on the walls, you cannot you wood wall tiles in a bathroom for example; but instead in living rooms or in dining rooms. Walls tiles must be used for walls only, they are perfectly durable and easy to maintain when they are used for that purpose only.
Floor tiles are thicker objects, usually square or rectangular in shape. They are manufactured from pieces of hard-wearing material such as ceramic. Floor tiles are made thicker and harder so as to withstand force from appliances, furniture as well as foot traffic. They at most have added texture to reduce the risk of slips. There are also different types of floor tiles and they can be used in different rooms. Just like wall tiles, you can not have a wood floor tile in your bathroom but instead you can have porcelain tiles. Porcelain is easy to maintain.
You always have to take note that wall tiles can not be used on floor but some floor tiles can be used on walls, normally in bathrooms.
